To Friends of Israel and Thinking Friends

To Friends of Israel and Thinking Friends,

Alan Derhowitz on the 250,000 Jewish citizens pushed out from Morocco etc. in the late 40’s sent from my friend Roger Aronoff in Washington, D.C.

I mirror Alan Derhowitz’s move from leftist idealist to right of center pragmatist, certainly as pertains to Israel, but also as it pertains to our United States.

The UN has been influenced by Arabs resulting in Palestinians still in camps not in the best of situations  in Jordan (who once controlled the entire area); many of these people came to work for Jews in Israel from Egypt etc. in the 40’s, 50’s 60’s, 70’s. Remember there were 500,000 Arabs in Israel and West Bank 100 years ago, and now 5 million, hardly a diminution.  On the other hand, Jews pushed out of Morocco, Egypt, Iraq etc. lived for 1,000 years in Middle Eastern Arab countries long before they were Muslim controlled. There are hardly any left.

Who are the more deserving refugees? Of course, the Jewish refugees have long been assimilated elsewhere. They have little interest on going back.

Peter D.
