Bad results of good intentions.
I came here in 1971 from DC. San Francisco had insignificant problems compared to today even Tenderloin was attractive.
It was a much smaller City. Montgomery St. center of business. It’s from very much business distributed to Mission Chase Center area etc. With its issues in my vise caused by drugs, non institutional treatment of mentally impaired not only causing conventions of travelers to stay away but ruining neighborhood with immigrant children, cafes etc. I walked recently from 7th market. 10,000 to 30,000 lost souls milling around for ten blocks to Cliff, graffiti, strewn garbage.
Our national reputation is not good. People in ___ selecting sites for conventions are thinking Orlando or Las Vegas etc.
We have a health issue of people on streets that could spread. They ___.
We are spending $1.4billion of $14 billion City budget not sure but maintenance. We’ve ruined small hotel rooms, open drug sales.
The issue called homelessness is more aptly drugs hard fentanyl and mentally ill. They are home grown and also attractive from other cities by tolerance in social program drug availability.
